Elizabeth Craft Designs first ever Design Team challenge!

Hi Everyone!
Can you feel Spring in the air? The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the flowers are beginning to bloom. Life is everywhere... what better way to celebrate than with the first ever Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team challenge with the theme of Flowers! Once a month the team will be given a theme to inspire our creativity. We will post on our blogs and then there will be a post on the ECD Blog with links to everyone's projects.

I love flowers and I love coloring on Silk Microfine Glitter with Copic Markers. I've had the Daisies in Frames Outline Stickers calling my name for some time so I decided to use them for this challenge.

To create this card I began with a white base and added pattern paper from Bazzill's Avalon Collection.  I rounded the corners on the bottom only to soften the look of the card. I cut a 5 1/2 x 2 1/8 strip of Avalon pink pattern paper and added white scalloped border to the top and bottom. To create the daisy sqaures I adhered double sided adhesive to a strip of white cardstock and then added the three daisy squares- sticky side down and glittered them with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. Remember to polish your glitter by rubbing it with your finger to set the glitter in the adhesive and bring up the shine.

Time to color! I used Copic Markers to color the Daisy squares in the following colors: R20, Y13, BG32, G94 and O to soften the edges. If you haven't colored on Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter before you can refer to THIS video tutorial by Els which will show you the process.

Here is a close up- don't you just love all the sparkle?!

Once I had added the daisy squares I felt like there needed to be a little contrast in the design so I used some of the negative pieces of the peel offs to give that extra punch. I used a piercer to lift them off the sheet and place them on the card.

To finish up the card I added the daisy panel on pop dots and then added the Happy Birthday outline sticker to the bottom left. I then added a strip of black border to the top and lower part of the card. Two small white ribbon bows finishes off the card. Isn't it sweet?

I hope you found a little inspiration today! Thanks for stopping by!
