Butterflies
With Spring in the air the flowers are blooming and the beautiful butterflies are in the air... I was inspired to create this card wanting to use a butterfly in a simple way. I stamped the butterflies from the Want to Fly serendipity set onto pattern paper from Kaleidascope Boyz paper pack. I embossed them with Trancendence embossing powder which works perfectly with Palette inks. I cut out the butterfly images and curled their wings. I added a tiny bit of black scrappers floss for the antenna on the bigger butterfly. I used white ribbon from the lily anna collection. I pleated it loosely adhering it with adhesive along the way. I used the scor-pal to do a lattice pattern on the darker blue part of the base and dotted stickles where the lines intersect for a touch of sparkle. The sentiment is from a level A hostess set called Just for You- also stamped and embossed. For the final touch I sprinkled flower sequins from sassy sequins embellishments. What do you think? Have a great day!

April Stamp of the Month
I finally got a chance to play last night and the first set I wanted to use was the new April Stamp of the Month - Floral Vines I love this set! It's so fun and versatile! For my card I stamped the image on glossy cardstock, embossed it with white embossing powder and then sponged two different Versamagic chalk inks over the embossed design. I wasn't sure what I would end up with but I knew I wanted to use colors that tied into the Rustic Chic pattern paper I had decided to use on the card as well. I absolutely love the result! I buffed the embossed design a bit to remove excess ink which scratched the ink here and there in the background which I totally loved! It gave it a fantastic distressed look that matches the paper perfectly! I love how the image turned out so much I really didn't feel it needed much embellishments so I added a couple of copper eyelets and stamped the word "faith" right on the image. I didn't want the sentiment to take away from the overal design. I also added a few lines of stitching in White stazon to cut the contrast of the background color and add texture. What do you think? It would be a great "guy" card as well.... Hope you have a terrific weekend!!
