Sunflowers
Here is another card we did in the Copic Card class. This image is from the current Stamp of the Month- Sunflowers T-3292. I absolutely LOVE this set. I have used it several times here on the blog. It seems to be my "go to" set when I need something perfect for a birthday, a thank you or a thinking of you. The sunflowers are fun to color and great for practicing your Copics! I've also had fun playing with the pitcher giving it different finishes and effects. For this one I tried to mimic the blue tin cookware you see in the camping stores. After applying the color I went back and added "mottling" with my Colorless blender and then added white dots with a white gel pen. It looks really authentic in person. Sorry the lighting was a bit bright when I took the picture but I thought I would share it anyway. I took inspiration from the Card on the TAC home site and crumpled the blue part of the background. Then I rubbed versamark over it to bring out the wrinkles. Love the look! If you don't have this set I encourage you to get it while it is on sale. You will use it over and over!
One of my favorite Images
I love this wagon filled with flowers. It's from a retired TAC set called Ecclectic Wagon. I used to use it all the time- there is something so charming about it- at least for me anyway. I'm teaching a Copic Card class at Scrapp'n Savvy and thought that wagon would be perfect to practice coloring on- especially the wood grain. I try to keep the cards simple in design to showcase the coloring. My students seem to really be enjoying the practice and the outcome. I'll share more with you as we go.
Hope you are getting a chance to enjoy some sunshine- it's beautiful here in Texas today. Thanks for stopping by!

Class cards
Hi Everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posting- I've been super busy teaching and getting ready for the Scrapp'n sampler this weekend at Scrapp'n Savvy. You should see my scrap room- it is totally upsidedown.. a creative whirlwind went through..but that is good- means my mojo is working :-)
I wanted to share a ccouple of the cards I designed for my Stamped with Love card class from the beginning of the month. The theme was Birthday cards -None of the supplies are from TAC but I still thought you would enjoy seeing them. I'll be posting more goodies soon! Thanks for hanging in with me!

Vintage Rose
I've been practicing with my Copics getting ready to teach a Copic concepts class this week. I decided to dig through my old stamps to see if I could find any images that would be fun to color. I came across the one used in this card. I know it is a retired TAC stamp- very similar to some of the flower art images at the Digi Design House, but I have no idea what it is called. I had fun coloring it though- and I promise- in real life the reds match :-)

Springy birthday
Hi Everyone,
The weather is so beautiful here in Texas it sure feels like spring outside. It made me want to create a springy card. I immediately went to one of my favorite sets- All Things of Nature- with it's beautiful bird images. I stamped the image in Rich Cocoa memento Ink. I used the palette method ( scribbling a little Copic on an acrylic block and then picking it up with the Colorless Blender to "paint" with) for a suble watercolor look for the image. I also used one of my other all time favorite sets - Running Sttitches- around the edges of the bird image and the pattern paper. I rarely have time to actually sew on my cards and the different stitch patterns in Running Stitches is the perfect solution. I can add stitching any time with out the effort of actually sewing. A few mini flower punches, some ribbon and the card is all done. What do you think??

Sunflowers
I get to play along again today with the Savvy Projects Guest Designer day featuring Sunflowers- one of my favorite sets! I love the images in this set- they are perfect for coloring with Copics or just about any other medium. I kept my card simple to showcase the image. Again I used Rustic Chic paper- this time the red and brown patterns. I colord the image with Copics, added some white dotting for highlights with my white gel pen and traced the petals of the flowers with my Stardust Gelly pen- It adds so much sparkle- I can't hardly stamp with out it! The Birthday sentiment is from Ordinary Greetings - another "go to" set when I need the perfect sentiment.
Have a great day!

Be Lifted
I'm so excited to be able to join in TAC's You Make Life Fabulous event. Different guest designers have been invited to showcase a variety of stamp sets- all which are on sale for 25% through the end of the month. The set featured today is called Be Lifted. I have had this set for a while but hadn't had a chance to play with it yet. I love kites and I especially love the "uplifting" sentiments that come along with the images. If you want to see more wonderful ideas head over to the Savvy Projects Blog and follow the links.
For my card I used Bazzill paper from a mono pack I had. The pattern paper is from one of my favorites- Rustic Chic. I love the colors and the patterns in this pack! I stamped the kite on some of the paper and cut it out, popped it up and added it off the oval a bit. The tail and sentiment are stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink. I add a bit of stickles to the edge of the kite and the tail for some sparkle. I colored the bows with Copics and dotted the background very lightly with Copics as well. I was going to add some ribbon but I ended up liking it just the way it was. What do you think??

Happy Valentines Day!
Happy valentines day everyone! I hope your day is filled with happiness and chocolate!
I've had a super busy month that has kept me from posting but hopefully now that things are settling down I will have lots to share with you. In honor of Valentine's day I wanted to share with you three cards that I taught in my last card class at Scrapp'n Savvy. The stamps are all from TAC- the paper's are one's we had at the store.
The first card was a Case of a card I saw somewhere.. sorry I can't find the orginal card but it looked a lot like this one ( haha) I embossed the base with a cuttlebug embossing folder. Stamped and embossed the image from Cheery Thoughts. I colored the heart with Copics and added stickles. The Love U sentiment is from a Gift with Purchase stamp. I thought it turned out sweet.
The next card is a pop- up card. The cover is stamped with Damask Backgrounder ( I love this set!) with stazon Ink on acetate. The inside is stamped with Decorative Corners and the birdcage diecut (Tim Holtz) is on the pop-up element. The sentiment is one I came up with on the computer. It was fun teaching my wonderful ladies how to make the pop up element!
p.s.- On a personal note I want to wish my dear sweet wonderful husband a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It turns the big 50 today.... I love ya, Sweetie!

A Special Thank You
I've been having trouble with my arm lately ( it has a graph in it that was used for dialysis in the past but not any more thank goodness!) and I had to have a second procedure this week to fix the problem. A dear friend from church brought my family a wonderful meal the night of my procedure. It was such a kind act of service and so much appreciated- she is a busy lady and it touched my heart that she took the time to care for us. I made her a sweet little thank you card and will give it to her today. I love Mabelle ro's images - they are so sweet... this one is from Cheery Thoughts. a favorite set. She is colored with Copics using a feather blending technique on her dress. I outlined the heart and added little dots to the bottom of her dress with the stardust gelly glaze pen...can't live with out that one! It's simple but heartfelt... hope she likes it!
