ECD Design Team Challenge- Asian Themed Cards

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a beautiful weekend! It's the last day of the month and that means it's DT challenge day! This months theme was a really fun one- Asian themed cards. Elizabeth Craft Designs has some great Asian themed dies and Peel-Offs that make such beautiful cards! Please visit the ECD Blog for links to all the Design Teams Asian inspiration.

I made two cards for this challenge:

This first card uses the the beautiful Lotus Flower Peel-Off colored with Copic Marker on Glittered cardstock with doubled sided adhesive- one of my all time favorite things to do with a Peel-Off! The card base is embossed with the Flower Mosaic embossing folder. I had a gorgeous piece of gold origami paper that I used for the center panel. I diecut the Ginger Jar base from Gold Shimmer Sheetz and the overlay from the same Pink Bling cardstock used for the base. I colored a little of the overlay with Copics for interest.  I trimmed the colored Lotus Flowers and adhere theme as if the are coming out of the jar- both the jar and flowers are on pop dots. For a final touch I added some Gold corners and two wavy lines. I really love the elegance of the products and how well they came together!

My second card today uses the Koi Fish and Flowers Peel-Offs in Gold. I love how the gold adds that touch of elegance right away. These were also colored with Copic Markers on cardstock with double sided tape that had been glittered with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. I again used a piece of Origami Paper from my stash for the background. I thought the design went so well with the Koi. The image is from Red Rubber Designs colored with Copics. She, the Koi and the flower are all on pop dots. I added some of  gold bubbles from the Peel-Off in a few spots on the background for some added interest. I think this one turned out nice too!

ECD Blogpost- A Little Humor in the House!

Hi Everyone!
I didn't realize how long its been since I posted. Our family took a long road trip to deliver both my kids to different out of state colleges this month and things are just getting back to normal- albeit with an empty nest- boohoo...  I'll definitely be posting more often now that things are settled from the crazy end of summer!

Today is my day for the blog post at Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog. I had so much fun creating this card! I was a little down from my kids leaving and wanted to do something humorous and this card is the result. You can see the tutorial and more pictures at the ECD Blog today. Let me know what you think- did it make you smile??
